The tiled mosaics that line the walls of the New York subway system have witnessed countless stories and inspired generations of New Yorkers from all over the world. This humble visual poem, penned and performed by Peiyuan at Chinatown’s Canal St stop, is presented in a digital frame fashioned by Iris into the colors and style of the iconic mosaic sign from the same station.
Peiyuan Zhang (Peipei 佩佩）is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Psychology Department at NYU and a documentary director. Her research focuses on procrastination, motivation, and affect.
